Kate Landers Events, LLC, Sea-Inspired Sweets {Special Feature} Part II

These sea-inspired sweets just don't stop inspiring me. I enjoy gazing at them and am in awe of the magnificent creativity of those who created them!

I highly recommend you take a closer look at the remaining sea-inspired sweet designers who created goodies for my Mystical Mermaid Party dessert table.

{Sweet Bouquet}

The coral sea anemone cupcake toppers by Olga of Sweet Bouquet are nothing short of extraordinary. They were the most intense pop of color, and yet one of the tiniest sweets on the entire table!

Each and every one, edible of course, was perfectly formed, and sat atop miniature cream-cheese frosted carrot cupcakes in a dainty fashion.

They were used on top of the spectacular Rosanna, Inc, white Dauphine candlesticks from Layla Grayce, as well as scattered on the tabletop of the dessert table, to resemble anemones popping up on the ocean floor.

I would greatly recommend working with Olga of Sweet Bouquet to create spectacular sweets for your next event!

{SweetLeslie540, aka "Leslie's Likeables"}

Leslie of SweetLeslie540 is truly likeable herself, just as her products are. She was lovely to work with, and created beautiful sea-inspired sweets for our Mystical Mermaid Party dessert table.

One of my favorites are the beautiful pearlized pink chocolate seahorse lollipops, each adorned with sugar pearls. They are fragile, delicate treats but absolutely stunning in person, and add great height to your dessert table!

Leslie also created the amazing "mermaid delights", which was a beautiful large variety of pink and white pearlized chocolate seashells, starfish and mini seahorses too!

Here's a closer look at the sweets...

I should also point out that Leslie is the one who mentioned the idea of using raw sugar for sand! Brilliant Les! And she also sent us a gorgeous seashell box made entirely of chocolate (would be the PERFECT party favor or cake topper) and a sweet pair of flip flop lollipops too! Leslie's creations truly are likeable, and I definitely recommend SweetLeslie540's sweets for your sea-inspired party, or other event (as she does, of course, create items that pertain to events other than a mermaid one!)

{Nothing Bakes Like A Parrott}

I was in awe when I first discovered NBLAB, blown away by her edible sea glass!! Having loved sea glass for years (we hunt for it every summer and winter, and have decorated our home with it), I hadn't even imagined that you could make a version so sweet and beautiful to eat!

She created the most beautiful coral pink, cream and caramel colored sea glass, and oh my, how realistic it looks!!!! This is over a pound, and it was plenty for a very tall clear glass apothecary-style jar!

I would recommend this treat for adults only, as it does have sharp edges (think of a broken piece of hard candy or lollipop), but seeing as how there are always adults at the children's parties I design, it is perfect!

NBLAP is also a true delight to work with, willing to go above and beyond to get you your order and make it perfect!

......last, but certainly not least, is.....

{Bee's Knees Creative}

I could go on and on about how extraordinary Renee from Bee's Knees Creative is. You would be blown away by her brilliant work. She created the spectacular mini starfish cookie wands, the seahorse, starfish, scallop shell and sand dollar frosted cookies. Each one had a pearlized dusting on top, matching the theme and table perfect.

She also was able to take my descriptions and turn them into beautiful, edible works of art!

The tiny starfish wands look precious and make perfect bite-size favors!

I know there are many brilliant cookie designers out there, but I must say that I am incredibly particular, and Renee has always exceeded my greatest expectations. I recommend Bees Knees Creative so highly, I could sing her praises all day!

She also was the mastermind behind my darling fan cookies and truffles from my Marie Antoinette-inspired party.

Oh, the cake truffles....

A special, special thank you again to each and every fabulous designer who helped create this extraordinary sea-inspired dessert table for the Mystical Mermaid Party. Your work inspires me more than you know.

Kate Landers Events, LLC, Special Feature: {Sea-Inspired Sweets} Part I

The sweets featured in the Mystical Mermaid Party dessert table, are so spectacular, they were worthy of their own post (as well as their creators)! Because there are so many spectacular treats, the sea-inspired sweets will be broken into two features.

{Sweet Petal Bakery}

I almost fell off my chair when I discovered the stunning edible works of art at Sweet Petal Bakery. They are absolutely mind-blowing!

The succulents are spectacular, don't you think?

And her flowers are out of this world. Check out her Hibiscus and Peony!

She took an image I gave her of sea urchins, and brought it to life into the most perfect, edible stack of soft coral-pink sea urchins I ever imagined. She even added her own brilliant touch, having them go from lighter to darker, urchin-to-urchin. Genius!

Her talent doesn't end there. She also created the 3 sea anemones for the top of the mermaid cake!

They too, were in three shades: one a soft white, the next with faint touches of coral-pink, and the last stronger coral-pink. It turned out beautiful!

And this isn't where her lovely work for the Mystical Mermaid Party dessert table ends! She also created the gorgeous clam shells, each with a sugared pearl inside.

 I am left speechless on this one!

I highly recommend Sweet Petal Bakery if you are looking for outstanding creations such as these. As her work is incredibly detailed, I suggest you allow yourself plenty of time to order.

{Fusion Sweets}

The marshmallows by Asian Desserts and Cookies Baked By Fusion Sweets are like none other I have seen nor tasted. For the "sea sponges" I knew I wanted something pourous, and these delights were just the thing.

I requested the grasshopper chocolate peppermint ones, oh MY goodness, they were delightful!

To turn them into sea sponges, they created them with bubbles in them, subtle but perfect. I then dusted them with lots of powdered sugar, and poked numerous holes in them with the wider and pointier ends of a toothpick, and this is how they turned out!

Perfection! And the best part? The aroma, the taste! One of the most creative of all sweets on the table, I think.

Fusion Sweets also sent me a gorgeous small pale pink rose infused marshmallow--amazing!

They have so many unbelievable edible treasures, I love the look of these Not So Boring Vanilla Bean Marshmallows!

 Fusion Sweets is another place I highly recommend for your next dessert table!!!!

{Two Sugar Babies}

Two Sugar Babies creates darling edible cupcake toppers, and are as sweet as their creations! I was blown away with the spectacular 3-dimensional light pink octopi cupcake toppers they created for my Mystical Mermaid Party dessert table. One of the most darling of all the mermaid sweets!!!!

You should see some of their other work, the creativity and clean, classic style is just *amazing*!

These owl cupcake toppers are such a hoot!

And I love these superhero cupcake toppers, too!

Just adorable work, Two Sugar Babies! They are gaining momentum fast, I suggest ordering before they become too famous!

{Sparkles Kitchen}

Sparkles Kitchen created the yummiest, light sponge-like and sweet petite french madeleines which I turned into "scallop shells" for the Mystical Mermaid Party dessert table.

Their petite french madeleines were packaged air-tight and have such a natural appearance. They were perfect when paired with soft sugared pearls and raw-sugar sand.

What I can't wait to order next from Sparkles Kitchen, are they incredible french macarons!!!

Check out the brilliant colors!

Sparkles Kitchen has a wide variety of gorgeous treats you simply must check out for yourself!!!

{Cocoa Confections}

Cocoa Confections created the beautiful chocolate dipped pretzel rods, in a beautiful soft pink/white and light brown/white swirled patterns.

They were supposed to be like swirly sea spike seashells, and she couldn't have done a more perfect job!

She also included some darling chocolate sand dollars, which were spread around the base of the mermaid cake!

When I first visited her shop, there were mostly just the pretzel rods, so upon my most recent visit I was blown away to find all the new treats she added!!!! You will have to hop over to Cocoa Confections yourself to see all the new treats!

That is all for the first installment of the Sea-Inspired Sweets featured in my Mystical Mermaid Party dessert table!

I hope you will join me in supporting their talent and beautiful work. They deserve many compliements and praise for their spectacular creations!

A special thank you to each and every one of you featured today!!!

$500 Custom Party Design & More! {Tuesday Giveaway}

Thank you all for your incredible feedback on my newest {Kate Landers Events, LLC, Signature Party}, The Mystical Mermaid Party! Your generousity and kindness have truly humbled me, thank you!

It only seems fair that for all you have done for me, I at the very least could offer you something special--one of the greatest gifts I have to share wtih you, in fact! And where better to have the largest giveaway in the history of Kate Landers Events, LLC, than on my favorite online retail site, Layla Grayce?!?!?!

{Why This Giveaway is THAT Special}

 I can't help but feel completely blessed and over-the-moon about the incredible response and success of Kate Landers Events, LLC, since I launched in 2009. The feeling of tremendous appreciation and demand for my work by my clients and peers is incredibly fulfilling, and overwhelming.

There are several things I haven't mastered, one of them being the ability to dream, design and create parties like I do, in less time. The amount of time that goes into each and every custom party design I create seems to be getting longer, not shorter. Therefore, unless we suddenly are given more hours in a day, I am able to create fewer parties, thus helping fewer clients and potential clients {a partial solution to this being announced soon}.

Each party I do take on is something I work incredibly hard at, and give my all to. I am a perfectionist, and only want to give the very best I have to offer--I adore life, children, and celebrating both.

Because my custom party designs are such "rare commodities" (not necessarily by choice) in that I am only one person and can only create so much in a given day, the value of them has risen dramatically.

My custom party concept and designs now start at $500. That is over 60 hours of labor, minimum, in creating the concept and design for each and every event.

Also, I am booking up through most of 2011, therefore my ability to even offer these design services is very limited.

With a limitation on availability due to increase in demand, more detailed party concepts and designs I create, the $500 Custom Party Concept & Design I am giving away truly is something that is special, and I am ecstatic to be able to have the opportunity to do so.

I encourage you to enter. It would be a delight to create a custom party design for you. To each and every one of you reading this post--I invite you personally put your name in the hat!!

I don't know when again I will physically have the time to offer something like this, therefore I am hopeful you take the opportunity to enter now.

{Note: Your party must be February 1st, 2011, or AFTER to be eligible}

*An additional giveaway is at the end of this post*

{Why Host This Giveaway On Layla Grayce}

I discovered Layla Grayce many years ago, and have been enchanted ever since.

It's somewhat of a dream for a devout Layla Grayce fan like myself, to have the opportunity to be a part of the Layla Grayce blog and tell my story of how I have found creative ways of using my favorite Layla Grayce products in the extraordinary children's events I design for Kate Landers Events, LLC.

The term "sophisticated cottage chic" comes to mind when I think of Layla Grayce. Their chandeliers range from regal to sweet; their table linens are utterly romantic--perfect in a casual setting or dressed up for a grand affair. I could go on and on about my fondness of Layla Grayce and the versatile style of their products, as they are an online store I truly adore!

Layla Grayce has brought style and warmth into my home (and sister's apartment, and friend's boutique...) and I feel so fortunate to have been able to incorporate it into my events as well!

My clients and I often fall in love with exquisite products from Layla Grayce and other fine shops for their children's events (many of my clients have used Layla Grayce products to decorate their child's entire nursery or other parts of their beautiful homes! This has been a complete coincidence, and obvious factor into why my clients have selected me to design their events--we share so much in terms of taste of decor not only for events, but in the home as well).

We drool over the precious velvet and ruffle trimmed napkins for their daughter's tea party, or the sweetest chandelier to hang over their dessert table...but working those items into their new budget can be difficult!

It seemed only fitting to offer my greatest giveaway to date, on the blog of an online store I adore personally and professionally!

{Note: have you read my article for Layla Grayce yet? I used their products in my Mystical Mermaid Party, and I chat about using home decor products for entertaining--a great way to work with the current economic crisis--you may wish to pop over and read it here}
