The Twinery {Discount, Giveaway and Preferred Sponsor Feature}

It is a great joy to share with you not only an AMAZING $154 Value GIVEAWAY sponsored by The Twinery {details at end of post}, but also a truly wonderful interview with The Twinery's very own Nicole, AND an exclusive reader discount code!!!

Nicole graciously sent me twine (which you will see featured in a party soon!) and I can say first hand that it is absolutely beautiful and fabulous in quality and colors. Love at first sight!

An INCREDIBLY GENEROUS DISCOUNT: For your orders placed at The Twinery today through Friday, February 11, 2011, you can receive a 20% discount by entering the code KATELANDERS20 at checkout!!!! {A BIG Thank You Nicole!!!}

                                                     {gift jars found here}

 I have been thinking of how many creative ways I could use my twine from The Twinery for "Valen-twine's Day"--and you will see in these images some perfect ideas!!!!

                              {banner by Glory of Glorious Treats}

{Question}  Please tell us a bit about The Twinery--from conception of the idea to where you are today.

 The Twinery all started because of a personal need...a personal preference, really. I had a small business and I used baker's twine and ribbons to tie up my products. My products were colorful...bold...vibrant...and often found itself into the hands of little ones and I wanted the packaging to be just as creative and colorful and attractive. I loved the idea and concept of baker's twine...it's fun, it's nostalgic, it's reminiscent of simplicity with a twist of fabulous!

After much searching and researching on various websites, forums and even at local crafting get togethers, I realized that others were wanting the same thing I did - happy, fresh colorful string to tie up their baked goods, to use on their scrapbook pages, to use in their product packaging, to use on their party goods, brides wanted it to use on their wedding invitations, boutiques wanted to offer it to their clients and on and on the list went. We were all searching and coming up empty handed. There was baker's twine on the market...but nothing like I wanted...nothing like the crafters I talked to were looking for. It took many, many months of planning, saving, designing and waiting...did I mention lots of saving and planning?! It was no small feat, but I was able to create a type of baker's twine that everyone was searching for...and I'm so proud of the way things came together and I'm so ecstatic that so many fans and customers love this silly string as much as I do!

                                    {Necklace by Emily Leiphart}

{Question} We would love to learn a bit more about you! Please tell us about yourself.

 I'm a wife and a mom - the first two most important "jobs" in my life! I have the most supporting and loving husband anyone could ask for...he even helps me package up twine orders! My two children are my pride & joy - both mommy's little helpers - they are smart, funny and remind me everyday how blessed I am that they are in my life! I was born in the Chicago area and spent most of my young childhood there {it holds a special place in my heart}...then my family moved to a small town in Wisconsin right near Milwaukee and Madison and I spent the rest of my childhood days, high school and even college years and beyond there - I had a wonderful childhood...it was full laughter, happy memories and creativity! I think that's what drove me to getting a degree in Early Childhood Education and teaching preschool for a number of years before taking the plunge into the handmade crafting market! Creativity was instilled in me at such a young age...I remember watching my mom sew, paint, draw, make and bake...it was inspiring and I knew I wanted to be just like that!

                                 {Card by Stephanie}

{Question} I am a HUGE fan of your gorgeous twine. I know first-hand that it is incredibly versatile--I love it for party-favor packaging, dessert tables, gift wrap...what are your favorite uses of your twine?

Personally I LOVE using it with my paper crafts - stringing banners, tying up gift tags...but I also love packaging up baked goodies and treats with it {I think through this whole thing I've discovered that "packaging is my passion"!

                                        {wrapping by Ivona}

{Question} Your color range is spectacular! Are there any new colors or products you plan to introduce in 2011? Any hints you can share with us?

There are many new colors on the horizon - we just released 3 new colors of baker's twine in January: Blossom - which is a light baby pink & white twine, Honeydew - which is a light chartreuse green & white twine {it's the same color as the inside of a honeydew melon...thus, the name} and Charcoal - it's a simple black & white twine but it makes a bold statement!

But...we're not stopping there. We have some new colors being created and can't wait to share them with everyone soon...no hints on colors...but I think they are going to be HUGE hits with the brides, crafters, stationers, bakers and everyone else in between! We also have some other fun products to introduce this year...think packaging...paper goods...and more....all created to match our baker's twine colors!

                                      {place setting and tag by Kristy}

{Question} What are your goals for 2011 for The Twinery, and what steps have you already taken to achieve them?

My goals for The Twinery this year are:

1.Update and professionalize our logo - I'm so excited to be working with a fabulous graphic designer and cannot wait to reveal our new look soon!

2. Blog and Website Makeover - this goes hand in hand with becoming more professional...I have so many ideas and new products that I'd like to add this year and I'm excited to be working with someone who will make that all happen!

3. Add new products - this is an exciting part of my 'every day' right now...the planning, the preparing, etc...but no hints!

                                      {wrapped baked goods by Emily Leiphart}

I'm excited of what The Twinery has become in the short time it's been "open" (we officially launched in July 2010) and thrilled to think where The Twinery is heading in 2011 and beyond! I have a fabulous design team of crafters who are the beacon of creativity and share wonderful projects with The Twinery's fans, blog readers & customers...I'm so excited to see what they have in store for us this year too...I know no one will be disappointed!

I love the orange and white and also the black and white! I've been looking for black and white twine.

I love all the colors! The marachinso red is so fabulous and vibrant. The manadran orange and new charcoal will be fantastic together for Halloween! You must have more than just one color. I love them for making crafts and cards! I already follow the Twinery and now you too!
Kind regards,
Jennifer Ferrell

Can I choose another color?? I think the black and white would be stiking for more 'formal' ideas. The red is so old fashion it begs to be used!

If I don't win something I WILL be buying this product!!

I love the lemondrop color. As an avid card maker this twine is a basic staple, but I love the project ideas on their site too.

What a neat product! I'd get the sampler pack, but I'm partial to blue and think they have a nice assortment of blues.

It's so hard to pick, all of the colors are great! But I think my favorite is lilac :) I would absolutely use this for an art class project - maybe I will "knit" / "crochet" something unusual out of it!

Ooohh, tough one! I think the orange is my favorite, but I'm also pinning over the classic red. If I were lucky enough to win I think I'd use some for pretty much everything- like jewelry, cards, scrapbooks, decorations, sewing projects... anything and everything!

Cappuccino for me - for tying up my burlap banner orders.

I think I'd try marachino first, and I'd replace all the strings on my Christmas ornaments before next Christmas! Thanks for the chance to win. I've always loved ribbon, and now twine, too! who knew!

My favorite color is green and so I love the Peapod and that Honeydew looks pretty yummy too! I would use the twine to make cards as well as in my scrapbook pages. I love how it looks on other people's work I've seen online; I've been drooling over the twine for several months but can't find it in any local stores. I might even use it on presents, it's so cute!

I am now following on Facebook on two different pages - The Twinery and Kate Landers Events! Woohoo! I love this twine!!!

I just had a thought. I have a blog and have just started offering "Blog Candy". If I win, I can share some of the twine with my followers as candy!

So hard to pick just one. I like the aqua though that is subject to change. I want to make bracelets!!

Whoops, I didn't realize that the last link (Kate Lander's Events) was the other FB page. So here's my third post that I became a follower of that page as well. Thanks for all the chances to win! Again, I really love all the beautiful twine!

Whoops again! Forgot to leave you my name. Sharon Beam on FB. Thanks again!!!

easy, maraschino. red is usually my favorite in anything! I would use them to tie the name tags on all the little holiday gifts I send into my son's school.

Hard to pick a favorite with so many great choices but I think I would go for pea pod - love bright green.

wow--super cute! It is a tough call between the Caribbean and the Lemon Drop but I think I will go with the Lemon Drop. I am sure I will use it many ways but I really love it on the brown packaging so I would probably give away a lot of things wrapped adorably!

Love the twine! Cappuccino is my favorite - just seems like it would go with so many things (home decor, packages, cards, baked goods). A nice color to get started!

I ABSOLUTELY love the idea of this... all this time I thought I was stuck using plain old basic brown twine! My favorite is by far is the Honeydew... and a few others, so many ideas are flowing! I would love to use it in my scrapbook pages but my first project would be to use it on my daughters curtains... to hang them on the rod... We are redecorating her room and this is just what I have been looking for! LOVE IT!
